Scheme Member Representatives Advert
A vacancy has arisen for an employer representative on the London Borough of Hackney Pension Fund Local Pension Board.
The London Borough of Hackney Pension Fund's Local Pension Board has two employer representatives. One of the positions is held by a representative from Hackney Council. The other position is now vacant as the person previously undertaking the role has left their relevant employment.
Being a Pension Fund Board member is an interesting and enjoyable role. It does require some time commitment so anyone put forward by the employer organisation must have the capacity to do the role (more information is provided in the attached background information document). Some of the information the Board receives can be quite complex, but Board members receive induction and ongoing inhouse and external training in addition to ongoing support from the Fund officers.
The Fund recognises that an effective Pension Board will bring together a wide range of different skills, mindsets, experiences and perspectives. We are looking for someone who is committed and enthusiastic about the role of the Pension Board, appreciates the need for discretion and has a balanced mindset and respects others’ views. You do not have to be directly involved with the Fund in your existing role, or have a senior position in your organisation. Some examples of skills and experience that might be useful on the Board are set out in the attached background information document.
If you would like to discuss this contact miriam.adams@hackney.gov.uk. Regardless of who the successful candidate is, the new Board member will bring valuable fresh perspectives.
